Expanding on the legacy and successful 30+ year career of his father, Justin has built a comprehensive financial planning practice in Westport, CT. He has consistently been named among the top 10 financial representatives in Northwestern Mutual's Eastern Region and has also been recognized as the top financial representative in his year group, nationwide.
Having graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with distinction in 2000, Justin went on to spend five years as an officer in the United States Army. Between 2001 and 2003, as 2nd Lieutenant and 1st Lieutenant respectively, Justin led his soldiers to Kuwait during Operation Desert Spring and from Kuwait into Baghdad during the initial phase of what became Operation Iraqi Freedom. As a Captain, Justin managed the operations for more than 300 soldiers in a field artillery battalion.
Following his career in the Army, Justin earned his MBA from Cornell, where he was selected as one of 26 Park Leadership Fellows. He concentrated his studies in finance and graduated with distinction. After business school, Justin joined the Industrials Group in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs before deciding to leave Goldman Sachs to join his father as a Financial Advisor.
Justin is passionate about helping his clients live lives free of financial stress. Creating plans to allocate their assets most effectively and helping them reach their goals while protecting what’s most important to them continues to be the most rewarding aspect of the career for Justin. In 2017, he was named among Worth Magazine’s Leading Advisors and was also selected among Fairfield County’s Top 40 Under 40 Professionals.
As a former Co-captain of the Army lacrosse team, Justin’s hobbies include supporting Army lacrosse, coaching Westport Youth Lacrosse, working out, and spending time with his family. Al started his career at Northwestern Mutual in 2009 and is a founding partner of Saugatuck Financial.
Having earned early designation as having built a “Forum” practice, Al has also been a contributor on financial planning topics in both FORBES and Fortune Magazine. Al was named among the top 10 financial representatives in Northwestern Mutual's Eastern Region for the last 3 years and has been named among their top 20 representatives nationwide since 2015. In 2017, he was named among Worth Magazine’s Leading Advisors.
Al graduated from Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk in 2002, where he was a standout baseball player. He earned his degree in business from the College of Mount St Vincent, where he graduated cum laude and led the baseball team as a 4 year captain.
Al resides in Fairfield, CT with his wife Christin, daughter Ella, and son Cameron.
Chief Operating Officer
With 15 years of industry experience, Christy started her career at Goldman Sachs in their Fixed Income Division. She left credit sales to pursue a JD/ MBA and was named a Dean’s Scholar at Cornell Law School and selected as one of the Business School’s 26 Park Leadership Fellows in recognition of professional and academic excellence, dedication to community service and demonstrated leadership.
After completing her MBA, Christy joined Bain & Co. as a strategy consultant in their New York office. She spent time in both the general practice and their private equity group, and later joined CT-based boutique consultancy Casey Quirk to focus exclusively on strategy work for public and private asset managers and hedge funds. Christy joined the Saugatuck Financial team in 2009 to lead the growth initiatives of the practice. She now leads various aspects of the practice including business development, marketing, and strategic initiatives.
Christy holds a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell. She loves living in Westport with her husband and two children, Austin and Ashley. Aside from spending time with family and friends, Christy loves traveling, cooking, and a good cup of coffee.
Director of Financial Planning
Colin came to Northwestern Mutual in 2012 and joined Saugatuck Financial in 2016. In addition to years of financial planning experience as an advisor, Colin also served our country as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army Special Forces from 2002 – 2008 as a member of a Military Free Fall detachment. During his time with Special Forces, Colin completed 2 tours in Afghanistan and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in a combat zone.
Colin grew up in Fairfield, CT and received his BA in Economics and his MBA from University of Connecticut. He currently resides in Fairfield and enjoys working out and playing golf and guitar.
Financial Planning Associate
Natalia joined Saugatuck Financial in December 2016 as an Operations Associate. Following several years of accounting experience at Starwood Capital Group, Natalia brings an eye for detail and a commitment to ensuring that the financial planning we do for our clients is both accurate and comprehensive. Natalia holds a Masters of Science in Finance from the University of Rochester as well as a Masters of Science in Global Affairs with specialization in Private Sector from the New York University and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Connecticut.
She lives in Stamford, and her passion is traveling. She also enjoys running and being active.
Jamie joined Saugatuck Financial in 2016 to lead calendar management for Justin and to provide top caliber administrative support to the team. She brings more than a decade of logistics and executive assistance experience gained in industries including oil & gas, property management and most recently worked for the head of the network at WWE.
She lives in Wilton and enjoys being outdoors and on the water, personal fitness and spending time with friends and family.

Nicole Martocci, CFP®
Investment Operations Manager
Nicole began her career with Northwestern Mutual in 2003. She left the firm in 2007 and relocated to California with her husband, Mike, where she was a Business Reporting Associate for Western Asset Management in Pasadena.
She later joined Osterweis Capital Management in San Francisco as a Senior Portfolio Administrator. Although she loved her time in the Bay Area, Nicole and Mike returned home to the East Coast in 2012, where Nicole re-joined Northwestern Mutual. She now runs the operations of Northwestern Mutual's Stamford Network Office as Chief Operating Officer, and oversees the back office investment operations for Saugatuck Financial.
Nicole is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and a graduate of Colgate University. She and her husband, Mike, reside in Norwalk with their 5-year-old daughter Gabriella, newborn son Jacob, and dog Zadie.
Director of Operations
With over 20 years of experience in the financial service industry, Donna brings a strong Operations and Customer Service focus to Saugatuck Financial. Donna joined Al’s team in February 2014 after having been a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual and previously worked for over 18 years at GE Asset Management across a variety of operations, training, management and service roles.
Donna is Al’s Operations Manager and manages the risk underwriting process for his clients.
Donna holds a BS of Business Administration from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.
A native of Stamford, CT Donna enjoys tropical vacations, cooking and spending time with her loved ones. She also enjoys sports, especially football. Donna resides in Norwalk, CT and her daughter Tiffani, also a Morgan State University graduate, is her pride and joy.
Director of Investments
Lou started his career by completing the Morgan Stanley broker training program in New York City. Drawn to understanding the operational aspects of investing, Lou was eager to learn more about the technical side of financial services. He spent 10 years with Commonfund, one of the nation’s largest non-profit investment managers starting as an operations associate. At Commonfund, Lou filled several progressive roles that not only afforded him a deep understanding of back office operations, but also included account management and client relations responsibilities as an Associate Director of Sales.
Lou joined Justin’s team in 2015.
Lou holds a BS in Finance from Sacred Heart University. He lives in Monroe and enjoys spending time with his five-year-old son Blake. Since childhood, Lou has always lived on the coastline, whether in Connecticut, Southern California, or South Florida, and has always had a fascination with water sports including surfing and water skiing.
Director of Client Relations
Chris joined Al’s team in 2015, building on a 7 year career focused on financial planning.
After earning a degree in business management from The University of Alabama, Chris pursued his dream of playing professional golf. He traveled around the country playing on various professional golf tours for 5 years before returning to his hometown of Fairfield, CT as the assistant golf professional at Brooklawn Country Club. During that time, he met his future wife, Erica, whom he married in 2008.
In 2008, Chris also joined the team at People’s United Bank as a branch manager, where he completed both the Harvard Business School’s “Stepping up To Management” program and the securities licenses required to specialize in comprehensive long-term planning.
Chris decided to further pursue his strength in financial advisory work and joined First Niagara as a Junior Financial Advisor in 2013.
Chris currently lives in Milford, CT with his wife Erica and their three children: a 6-year-old son and set of 2-year-old twins – one girl and one boy. In addition to spending time with his family, Chris enjoys being outdoors while camping and playing golf with friends.
Financial Planning Assistant
Rachael was born and raised in New Milford, CT where she was a gymnast, starting at age 5, and ultimately served as captain of her HS team. She studied Finance at Auburn University and graduated in 2016.
After working one last winter at Mohawk, the mountain she learned to ski on growing up, she joined Al’s team in April of 2017. Rachael is utilizing her knowledge of both business and finance and a natural passion for client service in her work preparing and reviewing financial analysis and recommendation materials for Al’s clients, as well as assisting in identifying client financial needs.
Rachael is an avid crossfitter, freelance photographer, aspiring surfer, and a die hard Auburn fan. War Eagle!
